Trento CityLab COVID-19 activities

The health emergency has upended families that are struggling to balance work and child care. School closures, smart working, physical distancing make parenting harder than before. In the Trento CityLab, partners launched the “merende online” (“online afternoon breaks”), biweekly remote meetings to make the most of these stay-at-home days with kids and support parents with ideas for activities to be done with kids.Every Wednesday and Friday at 3 pm parents working in FBK can meet online with their children and have fun together: so far, more than 30 children and parents have participated in this initiative; each Merenda is dedicated to a specific topic, proposed by a volunteer employee: Trento CityLab created spinners, notebooks and wonderful boxes with origami paper, they read a tale about rainbows and discussed it with the author and a physicist, they discovered how to create beautiful flowers with napkins… and many more interesting activities are planned for the coming days to support parents with their kids at home!
